IndiGo Finalizes Cabin Configuration for 10 Airbus A350 Aircraft

Indian airline IndiGo has finalized the cabin configuration for its first 10 Airbus A350 aircraft. According to CEO Willie Walsh, the airline plans to introduce the A350 into commercial service starting in the summer of 2028.

The new-generation widebody aircraft will feature lie-flat seats. IndiGo also plans to introduce similar seating on its Airbus A321XLR aircraft in the coming years.

Meanwhile, the airline is expected to operate A321XLR aircraft on its Amsterdam route to retain valuable airport slots. This suggests that Amsterdam could become one of the destinations served by IndiGo’s A350 fleet once the aircraft enter service, although the airline has not officially confirmed the route.

In parallel with its fleet and network expansion, IndiGo is planning a significant increase in pilot recruitment. The airline aims to hire approximately 1,000 pilots during the current fiscal year. If achieved, this would mark the highest number of pilots recruited by an Indian airline in a single year.
